Invited Speakers
Ana Paula Duarte Gomes holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and a PhD in Environmental Applied Sciences, both from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. She has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, particularly in Waste Management and Treatment, as well as in Water and Waste Systems and Services. She is currently the Director of the Undergraduate Program in Environmental Engineering. Ana Paula Gomes is an international researcher at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and will be leading a lecture on “The Contribution of Residual Materials to the Renewable Energy Mix - The Case of Portugal,” as well as conducting a workshop on “The Energy Potential of Waste and Biogas Production.”.
José Alexander Araújois a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Technology of the University of Brasília (UnB). He holds a PhD from the University of Oxford (2000) in the field of Material Fatigue and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship (2019-2020) at the Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa (IST). His research focuses on Aerospace Engineering, with an emphasis on Multiaxial Fatigue, Fretting Fatigue, and Fracture Mechanics. He also conducts research on modeling, numerical simulation, and fatigue testing of power conductors. He is ranked among the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists according to the "Stanford/Elsevier's Top 2 Scientist Rankings." With over 2,500 citations and an h-index of 25 (Scopus), Professor Araújo is a PQ 1B scholarship holder, serves on the editorial boards of several journals, has been a keynote speaker at various international conferences in the fields of fatigue and tribology, and has received several awards throughout his career.
Estevan Hideki Murai holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UFSC (2019), having completed a research internship at University College London in 2017. His interests lie in structural optimization, machine and mechanism design, having developed projects in both areas. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Design and Graphic Expression at UFSC and a member of the Professor Raul Guenther Robotics Laboratory at UFSC. Estevan will lead a workshop on patent writing and aspects related to patent filing.
Fernanda Christina Teotonio Dias Troys is an Assistant Professor in the Materials Engineering program at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), with a PhD (2019) in Mechanical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas). Her work focuses on the mechanical properties of materials, characterization processes, metallic coatings, and corrosion. She has significant experience in the development of innovative processes and products, contributing to scientific and technological advancement. As a researcher, she coordinates key projects on corrosion- and wear-resistant metallic coatings, with an emphasis on friction deposition processes. Fernanda, along with her master's student Cristiano Faria de Oliveira, will lead a workshop on an introduction to bibliometric analysis using the Bibliometrix tool.
Bruno Garkauskas Netois a Senior CFD Engineer at Stellantis Brazil. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (2019) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), with extensive experience in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation tools, with direct applications in automotive electrification projects. His work focuses on battery cooling, hydrogen fuel cell systems, as well as exhaust, cooling, and aspiration systems for internal combustion engine vehicles. Bruno will deliver the opening keynote lecture of the 4CPPGMEC, highlighting advances and research opportunities in CFD applied to the automotive sector, both in electrified platforms and combustion-powered vehicles.
