PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING QUALIFICATION

Guidelines for Requesting Master's Qualification

Additional information is available in the Regulations for the qualification, deposit, and defense procedure of the dissertation.

 

To schedule the Dissertation Qualification, the following guidelines must be followed:

Advisor:

 

  1. Open a process in SEI - with at least 30 days in advance - "Graduate Qualification Master's", include in the process the form "Appointment of Qualification Examination Board", fill out, sign, and assign it to one of the PPGMEC secretaries (Tutorial here).

  2. Register the Examination Board in SIGAA (after the student's enrollment).

  3. Provide the data of participants external to EMC/UFG, if applicable, via the external member registration form  (link:https://forms.gle/YzaFGF4Uw4rXdh748)

 

Student:

  1. Request enrollment in the Qualification activity (SIGAA).

  2. Send or deliver copies of your dissertation/research project to each member of the examination board, according to the resolution (at least 15 days before the defense date).

Composition of the Board:

The examination board will be composed as follows:

  • Qualification: 3 professors/researchers with a doctoral degree and 2 substitutes, who may be internal or external to the program, with approval from the CPG.

 

The titular members of the examination board, when necessary, will be replaced by corresponding substitutes, indicated in the defense scheduling form.

The student must submit the board's suggestion in the scheduling form signed by the respective advisor, to be forwarded to the PPGMEC Secretary. After the board's approval by the Commission, the student must:

  • Send the copies to the respective members along with the invitation letter.

Participation in the dissertation or qualification examination board of relatives up to the third degree of the student, the advisor, and other members of the commission is prohibited.
